Un par muestra de fanzines y posters organizada por el colectivo colombiano La Ramona Proyectos en Berlín y Barcelona/ Two ‘zines and posters shows organized by colombian collective La Ramona Proyectos, i berlin and Barcelona.

The major driver of Tropicalism and conspiracies is to respond to a motivation that we have identified in the current cultural context in which daily we developed our practice: working collectively in the exploration of matters related to the artistic field and creative practice in Colombia; as La Ramona Proyectos we have been part of various international collective initiatives and we are convinced that these dynamics are fertile grounds to develop networks and platforms that allow enriching interactions between professionals of different disciplines and different cultural backgrounds who find in the creative act a way of networking to develop projects of long and short range. A roadway to generate bonds, and to create new projects working towards common interests, appreciating the value of dialogue and debate as a common ground to share knowledge and ideas. Accordingly, Tropicalism and Conspiracies aims to highlight the diversity of artistic proposals that have grown over the recent years in Colombian emerging arts scene, artistic practices in which the concept of critical thinking about day to day life frame the show. Furthermore by finding a space to exhibit this production we are also looking to start up new alliances and links among communities to widen our network and become part of a new one.
The curatorship of Tropicalism and Conspiracies has been thought to drag the viewer to a thematic mud, a dark setting full of restlessness in which moved by a dark fascination for the novelty and the strange the viewer wanders around powerfull images that assemble the presence of their own unique universe, a journey that can become in some kind of trip through a black hole from which only inquiry can emerge from where it comes? To where it goes? Maybe, to the satisfaction of the constant restlessness that its own story provokes to the author or towards a nightmare comic? Ultimately, providing no answers at the end of the tunnel the images remain absorbed in a sinister setting of choked breathing. These signs remain as geography’s pulled by a sentiment halfway between desolation and the claustrofobia between disenchantment and frustration, a perifery justified in photocopies, fantastic drawings, pictures and animations.
